Well miss Laine has made her arrival. She was born on March 11, 2009 at 4:07 am. She weighs 5 lbs 5oz and is 18 1/2 inches long. She is 5 weeks premature and was born with a cyst on her ovary. My labor was 14 hours and I pushed for 20 minutes and then she was in the world. My contractions never got too bad before I got my epidural, but I did feel a little discomfort when I dilated completely. The labor honestly was NOT that bad. The bad part came after the delivery. We thought she was just going to have some trouble breathing and only be in NICU for a couple of days. Well, when the Neonatologist came in to check her she noticed she had a very distended abdomen. They did an ultrasound on her tummy and noticed a very large mass. Thankfully, the mass was fluid filled so they didnt suspect a tumor. Come to find out she had an 8 1/2 cm. cyst on her ovary. She was then rushed to Cook's and had surgery on her birthday to remove the cyst. They removed it laproscopically and she is doing very well. There are a few other premie issues, but nothing too at all threatening and we hope she'll be home within a week or a little more.
Jackson and I have spent obviously all of our time at the NICU at Cooks, but came home tonight to get some sleep. We really want to thank everyone for their support and prayers. Please dont stop praying yet...she isnt completely in the clear but she'll be home soon. I'll post pics later...too tired right now!

glad you can get some rest... And glad that she is doing relatively well! We'll all keep praying for sure!! Carlie was keeping me updated, but I'm glad to hear your version too!
I hadn't heard about this and yall will be in my prayers. That must have been such an emotional scary day. I can't wait to see pictures of your little Laine!
I can't believe that. Wow...I am so glad she is ok. I bet you were so nervous. I will be thinking and praying for you and your new family! You need to post pictures soon. I am sure she is precious.
Ummm, ok so this might be kind of weird that I am commenting on your blog because you have no idea who I am, and I have no idea who you are. I think I found your blog through Cherie's links. Anyways, how crazy - my name is Lane Elizabeth too, and get this ... my birthday is March 11th as well. Kind of creepy huh? I know the spelling is different, but still a crazy coincidence, no? Congrats on your baby girl, she is beautiful.
