Sitting up by herself at Michele's

Our little Lainey Bug is now 6 months old!! Time flies when you're having fun. Our little girl has changed so much over the past 6 months and she continues to entertain us and make us so proud every day. Now our little bug can do many things: sit up almost completely on her own, hold her own toys and reach for EVERYTHING, stand up using our help of course, make other sounds than coo's, look at us when she's in our lap and smile, listen to music and watch Noggin and seems like she knows what is going on, push up completely on her tummy (but she still has not interest in rolling over), splash in her bathtub and I'm sure more that I am forgetting right now.

I miss spending every waking minute with her, but she's in such good hands at Michele's. She spoils her like she's part of her family and loves her so much. Every morning when I drop her off, she watches me and Michele will make her little hand wave bye-bye to me. She loves her kids and watches them constantly. She pretty much loves to watch any child, it's almost like she's really concentrating and wondering how they are doing whatever they are doing. I think I may look into Gymboree classes now that she is really aware of her surroundings and put her in a baby class or something because I love to watch her little face as she learns and explores everything around her.

Poor thing is sick right now though. She got what looked like the beginnings of a diaper rash last weekend and I called the advice nurse and she told me to put Lotrimin and A&D mixed with Mylanta and to call back during the week if it got worse. It seemed to get better over the week, so I didnt call. I did notice that it was spreading to her feet and a little on her tummy on Wednesday or so, but just thought that maybe diaper rashes could spread. Then, the night before last when we got her out of the tub we noticed that her little bottom and tummy her splotchy and bright red. I went ahead and took her to her sitter's on Friday, but told her to let me know if anything changed..and she did. She emailed me and said that I really needed to call and take her in immediately. Frantically, while my kids did some busy work activity I called the dr. and made an appointment for right after school. We thought she might have Rosiola or that hand, foot mouth disease so we were pretty concerned. Come to find out she had an ear infection and a yeast infection so good thing we took her in. She gave us an ointment (that cost $112 WITH insurance) and some amoxicillan (Sp?) and sent us on our way. We go back Monday for her 6 month check-up so we will see how she is doing then. I guess we are just getting used to the sneak up on you type situations now that we have a baby!
