Having fun "sharing" the beach ball
Today we took Laine to Gymboree for the first time! My mom and I met Carlie, Patty and Avery out at the Southlake location and attended our very first class! When we first got there we all sat in a circle and sang a couple of songs. Then the class instructor had everyone go around and tell the most useful gift they received from a baby shower and the least useful. I said that my stroller was the most useful and my least useful gift was our Bumbo chair. Laine never really was too interested in sitting in that thing. She always wants to be held or sitting on her own.
Then we go to go explore the play toys and Laine really liked most of the toys. The goal for that class today was to rock. We rocked on a rocking horse, a boat, a big round mat like object and some other stuff. She most really interested in this ball that was rubber and had holes in it, so she mostly chewed on that. Avery on the other hand was really exploring. She would crawl through tunnels and climb over mats. Laine can just now sit on her own, so it'll be awhile before she starts exploring to that degree. After we explored for a bit, the instructor called us back down to the carpet. We were attempting to play "baby soccer". The instructor would roll a beach ball around the circle and the moms were supposed to lift up their babies and swing their legs to make a kicking motion. Laine liked it for about one turn and then seemed sort of scared of it. I think that just means she will be a dancer instead of a soccer player :) Then we played with a parachute and she sort of liked that, but after about two puffs of the parachute she was DONE. My mom held her over on the sidelines for the remainder of the class. Avery loved watching the parachute blow up and come down over her, so I stayed over in the cirlce to laugh at that. I think Gymboree will be great this next summer when Laine can really enjoy it. Plus, the membership is $67.00 a month...Not right now!
We all worked up an appetite by that point and went and ate some yummy Mexican food at Cristina's! Laine ate her bottle and then pretty much was knocked out the rest of the lunch and then most of the shopping trip to Nordstrom Rack...which I am SO glad they built one over around us because I LOVE that store!

We love gymboree, thankfully the grandparents pay for it. That is an expensive monthly fee! It's a lot more fun when they are older, next summer would be perfect probably.
