Laine's First Birthday Party!

My brothers and Laine :)

This plate was given to her by her babysitter and her family. It has her little footprint on it and on the back it says what month that was done in and who it was from! So sweet!

Last Sunday we got family and friends together to help celebrate our angel turning one! It was a great party and I'm glad everyone came to help make her day special. Laine was very fussy because I she was cutting her top teeth, but we just made the best of it anyway. Once everyone got there, we ate queso, guac and chips and talked for awhile. Then, the people who were standing around inside got to watch the video my cousin made for us!! I sent her a picture album and she scanned in ALL of the pictures and turned it into a beautiful slideshow. She had all the pics categorized and labeled. It was so sweet to get to see her little life replayed for us. All of her hospital pictures all the way up till the last month were included. She also did a "Chair Pic" segment which showed her growth each month in her PB chair.

After we watched the slideshow is was time to open gifts. At this point, Laine was a bit fussy. I think she was sort of overwhelmed at the fact that all the people in her house were there to see and hold and love on her. We did have about 50 people in our house and I can only imagine her confusion. She did sit with me and opened about half of her gifts, but then my mom held her on the floor for the second half and fed her a bottle. Once we were through with the gifts, we headed into the kitched to sing happy birthday and watch her dig into her cupcake. She handled that part of the party like a champ. She didn't waste any time digging into and making a mess of herself with the cupcake. It was so cute to watch her smile while we sang happy birthday to her. We served cupcakes in the shape of daisies and ice cream to the guests and after that was over and done with some of the people began to leave. My family and Jackson's parents stayed after to help put together all of her toys and it was very helpful considering she gots lots of toys that were in need of assembly.

Overall, it was a great first birthday and I hope she can look back on pictures and see how much she's loved :)
