I was looking for something I could take Laine to that didn't cost a lot of money and found that Barnes and Nobles does weekly costume character readings. I checked the website last night and then found that today they had the guest character, Clifford at the Barnes and Nobles in Southlake! I invited a couple girlfriends from work and their baby boys and we all made the trek out to the Barnes and Nobles to see Clifford! I was surprised at how much Laine loved Clifford. As soon as he came out, she was screeching and laughing and clapping. She climbed down out of my lap and ran straight up to him smiling and laughing all the while. She was pulling on his tail and slapping his leg and I of course was over on the side laughing hysterically and couldn't go up and get her. Needless to say, she was pretty entertaining to the whole group! I loved watching her watch Clifford and smile up at him. She didn't really listen to the story, but it was fun to get out and do something that didn't take a debit card!
After the story, they allowed parents to take pictures of their kiddo with Clifford. We waited around for our turn and Laine didn't really want to let Clifford hold her, but she did make this funny noise and slap his paw over and over. He eventually picked her up and she didn't seem to mind that much. I got a few cute pics and then we were on our way!
