The 4th!

This 4th of July our plans changed about 10 times! First we were going to go downtown with Carlie, Patty and Avery to watch fireworks in Arlington on Friday night. Then, we decided to go to a family friends' house instead and lay low. Then, Saturday we planned on going to the Bedford Boys' Ranch to watch fireworks and walk around, but once we figured out that we'd have to ride a shuttle that would have taken longer than for us to drive we decided against that too. Maybe when Laine's a little older. We ended up grilling k'bobs and having 7 layer dip with my parents. At the last minute, my dad, Jackson and I decided to go to the Ranger game. Thankfully we got to use our half price tickets, because it said that the 4th was a "black-out" day. My mom took Laine to her house and we went and sat in the heat and watched the Rangers LOSE!

Laine's a little too young to enjoy the fireworks still, so we thought it would just be easier to let her go with my mom and we'd watch the fireworks after the game. Little did we know that we'd be sitting by the foul pole and wouldn't actually be able to see the show. We tried moving closer to center field, but the attendants told us that we couldn't stand in the aisle. We ended up just leaving the stadium and watching the fireworks from the street. We saw a good portion of the show and they were pretty good. Next year hopefully we'll be able to find a place to watch the fireworks and not worry about keeping Laine up until 10:00.
