Japanese Gardens and Trinity Park Train

Today turned out to be a very special day. I have been keeping up with a darling couple who recently lost their baby girl, Maddie. She was 4 months old and she just stopped breathing at her sitter's house one day and never woke up. Her mommy is a teacher just like me and both mommy and daddy are heartbroken to say the least. I didn't check her blog this morning, but I just did and the post was very fitting for what we did today. She asked that today mommies and daddies take their sweet beloved angels to a park and play in remembrance that today marks the one month anniversary since Maddie went to live with Jesus, and that's JUST what we did today. The only difference is it was my mom and me instead of Jackson and me (he's currently remodeling our master bath..that'll be a WHOLE other post).

My mom and I drove to Fort Worth to take Lainey to run around the Japanese Gardens. It's SUCH a great place for kids to just run and play, pluse it has a very tranquil feel to it. We fed to Koi fish and looked at all the beautiful plants, and all the while without knowing it we were honoring an angel above, Maddie. After the gardens, we drove across the street in just the knick of time to catch the train that goes from Trinity Park to the zoo. Laine had such a blast riding the train! We got to see turtles sunning and kids waving once we got closer to the zoo. What a great way to spend such a beautiful day and it's very fulfilling to know that we were having ALL that fun in honor of sweet baby Maddie.
