Changes

Well the summer is full swing and Laine and I have enjoyed spending every day together doing whatever we want! I am so thrilled to have a job that allows me to spend 2 months with my baby and it is always sad when it ends...This next year will bring some major changes to the Kirkland clan and hopefully everything works out well.

First thing is Laine's babysitter and her family have decided to move back to California. That's where they are from and her husband's job brought them here a few years back. Well, now her husband's job is relocating them back home. Their kids are not thrilled about moving, but they have such a close knit family I know they'll be fine. Plus, they have a lot of family back home so the adjustment might not be so hard. The hard part will be saying good-bye to a family who has become like family to us. Michele's kids have fallen in love with Laine as much as she has and Laine absolutely adores them. When they do leave I'll do a farewell post to her and talk more about her amazing-ness then! Luckily for us I had a parent whose daughter I had in my class this year offer to take care of Laine next year. This family is great as well and the mom, Tristen used to be a sub at Laine's MDO, so it won't be a new face for them to get used to either! They have three kids and the youngest is a little girl who will be in first grade at my school and Laine has actually been to their house to play before and LOVED Kaydee's room, so hopefully she adjust fine. I'm so thankful for the Towle family to have stepped up and offered to keep my angel, but at the same time I'm sad to see the Lewis family go.

Second thing on our change list is that we are really thinking about listing our house and moving further north. When Jackson and I bought our house we fully intended on staying three years and moving and that's still our hope. The district we live in is great, but the elementary that Laine would go to is not ideal in my mind. I also love our neighbors, they're all retired, but all very sweet. I want more for Laine though, so moving is on the "things to do" list. I want a home that is in a neighborhood with young families and either has a pool or an HOA that has community pools. We have a really big backyard and I do not want to sacrifice that, but if we do have go with something smaller I'm ok with it as long as we have jogging paths, parks and a pool in the area. An older home is ok too, but we'd have to get it for a low enough price that the updates wouldn't cost us money we don't have. We've narrowed our search to these areas: Trophy Club, Roanoke and I've actually found some houses in our price range in Colleyville. The only thing we don't like about that is that it's in Tarrant county, the other two are not and the property taxes are higher here. So wish us luck in our house-hunting process!

The third major change that hasn't actually happened yet, but will in the near future is adding to our family of three. We want another baby and have planned on starting to try again for a second in August! It's not up to me how long it takes, but hopefully we aren't trying for months. It took two tries with Laine, so maybe it will not take long this time either. I don't nreally want to have another baby in this house because I don't want to have to paint our guest bedroom blue or pink. I don't think buyers are turned on to baby room colors. If our house sells in the next year then maybe we'll be out in time so that I won't have to paint another room, but we'll have to wait and see. Our family has a lot going on in the next few months and I'm so excited to see what happens!

Hey Erin!! Everything you just described, we have in our neighborhood. But it's in Mansfield, not up north. I totally know what you are talking about! I felt that way about our last neighborhood in central Arlington. But I LOVE our neighborhood now! But I also think Southlake is really nice area too. Happy Hunting!!
