Red Robin BEFORE the 'blizzard' hit!

Christmas Eve was definitely one for the books this year!! Of course we all know that it snowed a LOT, and I'm sure we all have our share of stories about the snow fall. Ours started out just enjoying the snow at Red Robin in Hurst with my mom and brothers. We watched from the window as we enjoyed our Christmas Eve lunch and we were amazed at how much snow was actually falling. At this point, nothing was sticking YET, so it was fun to think of the possibilities. After we finished our lunch, Jackson, Laine and I traveled to Weatherford to spend the evening with Jackson's side of the family.
It started out great at his parents' house until, Jacky (Jackson's dad) got called into work. He works for TXDOT and was on standby to load sand trucks! He was called in at 3:00 pm and didn't get off work until 1:00 the next afternoon!! He is such a hard-worker!! It was supposed to be that Jacky went into Ft. Worth to pick up Jackson's grandma and her husband Harold, but since he had to go into work, he dropped Jackson off over at his grandma's house and he was going to drive their car back to Weatherford. Well, it turned out that Barbara (Jackson's mom) decided once Jackson got to his grandma's house that the roads were too bad and that she didn't want her mom and Harold out in the blizzard-like conditions. Jackson, now had to drive their car back to Weatherford...which wouldn't have been too bad if it didn't take him 2 1/2 hours to drive 30 minutes!! I on the other hand, was taking care of Laine and hanging out at his parents house waiting on his return. He got back at like 5:30 and we had to leave at 7:00 to head to my parents house for the night. It took us an hour and a half to drive about 45 minutes. Needless to say, Jackson was pretty tired of driving by that time. We saw many stranded vehicles and many that were sliding all over the place. Thankfully, Jackson has 4 wheel drive on his truck, so we felt pretty safe. It was an interesting night to say the least!!
