Double Ear Infection

Our little Lainey has been feeling pretty yucky for the past few days. It all started with a runny nose and then led to a horrific sounding cough. I knew that RSV was going around, so I wanted to take her into the doctor this afternoon just to make sure. I love Laine's doctor, but the office is so busy that it's hard to get anyone to even answer the phone. I called this morning right at 8:00 and was put on hold for 5 minutes before I had to hang up to tend to my class. Then, I called back at 8:30 and it was busy for like an hour it seemed like. Finally I got ahold of a lady and she scheduled us for 3:30 which was perfect. Dr. Nash listened to her chest and said her lungs sounded clear, so she wasn't concerned with RSV. When she looked in her ears she found that the right ear was a full-blown ear infection and the left had fluid built up which leads to an ear infection. Thankfully we caught it early and Dr. Nash felt like she wasn't suffering too much from it yet. We got an antibiotic and filled it tonight so hopefully by Friday she feels better. It stinks because you can't give a baby under 2 meds for coughs, so she just has to ride that out but hopefully Tylenol will help ease the pain. It's funny because I was just bragging how Laine hasn't had a fever yet and of course not a week later she ends up being pretty sick!! I guess I jinxed myself, sorry baby girl!
