Year 4 Down

Here's half of my team. There are 8 of us and 5 graduated on one night, while the other 3 graduated the next night. One of the 5 was not in this picture.

Here is the table that was set up for my class. It has graduation cards and a wrapped treat for each of them.

This is the refreshments table that was set up for the students and parents after the 4th grade graduation.

I have successfuly completed another year of teaching. This year was obviously different, because not only did I complete another year of teaching but with a baby. I couldn't have done it without Laine's babysitter, Michele. She made everyday perfect and I could go to work knowing that my angel was taken care of 100%. As far as for my year as a teacher, I think it went really well. I didn't have the same kinds of issues that I faced last year. I think last year, parents were really skeptical because I was new at HL and I was also going to be out almost half the year on maternity leave. This year, I'd proved myself worthy to teach these kids and I wasn't going to leave them for a good chunk of the year. I always miss my babies at the end, but again I'm always ready to see them move on.

I never think I'm going to love my kids as much as I did the previous year, but I always do. It's going to be a transition going from being with them everyday, 7 hours a day to not seeing them at all. Some of them, I may never see again. I just hope that I made some sort of impression on them, that they won't forget their 4th grade teacher! It's a bittersweet time, but the fact is that I'm ready to spend the summer with my #1 baby!!
