Happy Halloween!

Aunt Marti's house for Halloween party!

This year Halloween took on a whole new meaning. Laine is old enough to enjoy more of the festivities and that makes celebrating holidays so much more fun. A couple of weekends ago, my mom and I took Laine out to my cousin's and aunt and uncle's houses in Weatherford where they had a Halloween party. It was the weekend when it stormed so much and we thought we weren't going to be able to have the party. Some of the outdoor stuff had to be cancelled, but they still had lots going on. Laine and my mom went on a hayride, while I got to stay back and enjoy a cold beverage. I didn't really feel like getting on a tractor full of rowdy boys, but my mom was all for it! We also judged a pumpkin decorating contest and ate some yummy food.

Then, this past weekend for Halloween we went over to Josh and Carlie's for a party. Their neighborhood put on a little parade and had some kiddie games around the pond for the younger ones. Laine and Avery got to pick a duck out of the play pool and win a prize and then they dug for "treasure" in a sandbox. They had a blast and it was fun to watch. After we went down to the pond, we took the girls back to get drinks and then we headed out to a few houses to trick or treat. Laine was a little unsure of going to people's doors and asking for candy, but if I was with her she did it. It was funny because she would only whisper "trick or treat" and "thank you", so people could barely hear her. She's a funny girl. When we were finished at their house, we took Laine to a couple of houses on our street and then called it a night. We bought candy to hand out, but didn't even get to do that because we didn't come in until around 7:30 and I had to bathe and put Laine to bed. Not to mention, our front porch light went out the night before and I didn't tell Jackson until we were on our way back in to our house...He wasn't too happy about that. We had a great Halloween and can't wait for more holiday fun!
