Sunday evening, Jackson, Laine and I went over to Michele and Stewart's house to decoate Christmas cookies. The recipe we used is one that my mom and mammaw made when my brothers and I were little. I remember them being SO good and I couldn't wait to make some with Laine this year. When I told Michele about the recipe and how fun they are to decorate we decided that her kids would enjoy it too so we all made them together! It was a blast and Laine actually painted some and played around in the powdered sugar.
Of course it got old to the kids after about 2 batches of painting, so the adults were left to paint about 12 batches! I remember that being the case when we were little..My mom and mammaw would have to paint the remaining cookies that we lost interest in. After the kids stopped they all (including Laine) went upstairs and played in their media room (which right now is one big cushion because of all the couch cushions and mattresses in there. Laine held her own. Her daddy wasn't far away playing shuffleboard with Stewart, so I knew she'd be fine. I would come up every now and then and check on her and she'd be jumping around on the cushions like the big kids! We LOVE hanging out with the Lewis' and can't wait for next Christmas to do it again :)
