Lainey's 2!

Happy Birthday, Mimi and Bug

Laine turned two on March 11th at 4:07 am. I thought 4 in the morning was a tad early to start celebrating, so we waited until I got her up for school and continued celebrating until Sunday night! I decided to not take off on her actual birthday, because I had the whole next week of for spring break. Instead, I bought iced sugar cookies and Laine's sitter Michele brought her to school in her "2" shirt so we could celebrate with my class. We all sang her happy birthday and ate cookies. Then, after school Jackson and I took her shopping at Toys R Us for something. We decided to just get her this pink pushing lawnmower and we're going to order a mini trampoline soon. After dinner, Jackson went home and Laine and I met my mom over at the Carter's store so we could buy her a few spring clothes and kill time until we were supposed to meet Carlie, Patty and Little A for dinner. After our shopping spree, we headed across the street to Red Robin for a some yummy fries and fun! Laine LOVES fries so we thought that would be a fun place. Let me cut in and add that my mom and Laine share a birthday, so it's even that more special! My mom also loves Red Robin, so it worked out well.

Saturday, I got up early and got my hair done and then came home and then hung out for the afternoon. That night, we went over to my parents' house so we could celebrate Laine and mom's birthdays again. My brother grilled some wonderful tenderloin and my mom made a twice-baked potato casserole. One of our favorite desserts is Black Forest Cake from the Swiss Pastry Shop, so my mom got one and had it decorated with, "Happy Birthday Bug and Mimi". It was so cute! After dinner, we let my mom and Laine open gifts. I did a basket full of goodies for my mom and my brother's girlfriend and parents gave Laine some gifts. She got an adorable outfit from Baby Gap from Beth and my mom gave her some clothes from there too. She also got her a new rocking chair, baby bed, easel and a Little People dump truck! She's quite the spoiled baby.

The next day was Laine's birthday party at Gymboree and we had a great time. There were probably about 50 people in there who came to help celebrate Laine turning 2, but it was comfortable and everyone loved watching Laine have so much fun. My mother-in-law has been taking baking classes recently so she made Laine's cupcakes. She and Aunt Becca slaved in the kitchen for about 24 hours to get them iced and baked in time for her party. We are so thankful for your hard work! They were delicious. They baked them and then added some pudding in the middle for some extra gooiness! Everyone Laine loves came to her party and it couldn't have been any more perfect. She is such a loved little girl and we feel blessed beyond belief to have such an amazing little girl. We love you to the moon and back, Laine Elizabeth!
