4th of July 2011

Her first time seeing the fireworks show!

This year the 4th was much more fun because Lainey witnessed her first firework show!My mom, Laine, Carlie, Patty, Avery, Josh and myself went to dowtown Arlington's Levitt Pavilion for their firework show on the 3rd. Jackson didn't go because he was still tired from the long drive back from the beach. We had lots of fun listening to the bands and watching the girls dance and play. Their firework show was awesome and lasted forever. Laine wasn't afraid at all and watched the entire thing even though she was up WAY past her bedtime and was exhausted.

On the fourth we went over the Jackson's parents' house and hung out with his family for the afternoon. Because of the burn ban we couldn't light off any fireworks like we normally can out in Weatherford, but we still had a good time and enjoyed lots of yummy food. Jackson's second cousin who I've never met and his wife and kids came over and we all had a great time. They have 6 kids (four are from previous marriages) and four of them were with them. The two girls were really sweet and played with Laine which she loved. Grandma bought a small pool and filled it up for the kids which was a nice way to cool down in this extreme heat :) We are very thankful for the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday for our country and for the fact that we are able to celebrate our freedom. I think about the families who have lost loved ones due to protecting our country and my heart goes out to them on this day! Thank you for everything you do and for loving your country so much that you'll risk your life for us :)
