Snow Day to Say the Least!

As everyone who lives in North Texas knows it has snowed it's tail off here today! I loved waking up to beautiful white snow and watching it fall all day long. It was an interesting day in Keller ISD today. We started the morning off normally (well as normally as one can start a morning with a class full of 4th graders who desperately want to be playing in the snow) and then it changed dramatically right before lunch. Our principal came over the intercom to inform us that we'd be dismissing an hour earlier and to stay by our phones in our rooms so that they could dismiss students whose parents were coming earlier than the dismissal time. By about 1:30 I had only about 7 students left in class and we ended up just playing a telephone type game until 2:00. How much can you really teach when 1/2 of the class is gone?! I was out there around 2:20 and went to pick up Laine from Michele's and we were on our way home!

When we got home, Jackson and I bundled up Laine and took her out to "play" in the snow for a bit. Jackson built us a snowman and Laine "helped". I know her little feet were probably not as warm as they should've been, but it really wasn't that cold out. We only stayed out for about 10 minutes and then I took her in. I wanted a few good pics for memories and after I got those, we came in. As day turned to night, we still watched the snow pile up on the lawn, houses, cars, wherever it landed and at this moment I still see snow falling. My mom told me that a limb fell on her house and the electrical wire was sparking because of a tree limb that landed on it, so I hope nothing too terrible comes of that! I really hope we don't lose power overnight, but if we do then I'll just put Laine in bed with us. I'm interested to hear what the total snowfall is in the morning! Enjoy my pics and the snow!
