She's making her star ornament!
Carly and Lainey on the train cart
Here's her bell around her neck that Santa gave her!
Laine and I invited our new friends from gymnastics, Cheryl and her daughter Carly to go with us and ride the choo-choo train in Grapevine called the North Pole Express Tuesday afternoon. I've heard good things about it and thought this year Laine would be interested enough to spend the money and go.
When we got there, I realized I left Laine's jacket at home and the wind chill outside put the temp around 40 degrees! She literally was the only child there with no jacket. I felt horrible. Thankfully the train itself was heated and Cheryl brought blanket just in case. Once we rode the trolley to the train area, the girls got to make an ornament in a heated area. Then, we waited for awhile inside a tent for the stage show to start. Some cute young kids came on stage and did a couple of songs to get the kids geared up for the train ride and then we all boarded.
On the train car there were two elves who were very entertaining. They sang songs with the kids and walked around and asked what they all wanted from Santa so they could report back to him once the got back to the North Pole. Santa himself made an appearance too and gave each kiddo a bell to wear around their necks. Laine loved all of the songs and she kept asking for Santa to come back. It was so cute to see her exicted and am glad we made the trip!
